Back-to-back wins for eight classes

Kingston SE put on a show for Rounds 9 & 10 of the 2024 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship presented by MXstore (AORC)! Featuring tough, technical tracks across South Australian soil, Round 9 featured a Cross Country followed by Sprints for Round 10.

Back-to-back wins were clinched by Mark Cook in EV, Rowan Pumpa in EM, Anthony Greene in EL, Madi Simpson in JG, Harry Gilbertson in J3, Levi Rossi in J2, Ollie Paech in J1 and Lachlan Devlin in JJ. In J4, Ollie Gear and Bradley Rayner battled it out for glory, with Rayner winning Round 9 and Gear, Round 10.

EV

Mark Cook took out the EV Cross Country win on Saturday, managing to maintain high speeds throughout all five laps to ensure his top step finish. Rounding out the EV podium for Round 9 was Luke Stafrace and Matthew Boyle, in second and third respectively.

After Round 10 Sprints, Cook scored himself consecutive gold! Stafrace dropped down the leaderboard, replaced by Nathan Newell for silver. Rounding out the podium for Sunday was Boyle.

EM

Once again, Rowan Pumpa took out the EM win on Saturday’s Cross Country. Pumpa produced a whopping lead of over 14-minutes, after five laps and more than three hours on the bike. Vito Porto claimed second place, followed by Brett Farr in third.

Come Sunday, the podium repeated itself with Pumpa in first after seven Sprints, followed by Porto and Farr in second and third place, respectively.

EL

Anthony Greene absolutely dominated in EL on Saturday, finishing in first place with more than a five-minute lead! Greene was followed onto the podium for Round 9 by Loui Stylianou in second place, and Troy Henderson in third.

Greene and Stylianou battled it out on Sunday’s Sprints, for that top step. After seven Tests though, Greene clinched another win, leaving Stylianou in second.

J4

It was the perfect day for Bradley Rayner, who scored a well earnt top step finish in J4 for Round 9. Rayner led the charge, clocking off with an impressive lead of over one minute. He was followed onto the podium by Ollie Gear in second place and Beau Tripcony in third.

For Round 10, the J4 field joined the Senior classes on the WR450F Test. After six Sprints, Gear clawed his way to the top step, beating Rayner by just over one-minute! Rayner conceded for second place, followed by Dylan McDonald in third.

JG

Although she didn’t clinch the hole shot on Saturday, Madi Simpson took mere seconds to reclaim the lead! After five laps and over two hours on the bike, Simpson claimed another first place finish, ahead of Jade Chellas in second. Rounding out the Round 9 podium was Mia Kennedy.

The party continued into Sunday, as Simpson took out another excellent win. Chellas and Kennedy managed to protect their respective second and third place spots throughout all six Sprints.

J3

Harry Gilbertson looked utterly unfazed during Round 9, as he screamed across the Cross Country track. After five laps, Gilbertson claimed a strong first place finish with a lead of over three minutes. Rounding out the J3 podium for Saturday was Marcus Nowland in second, and Kai Austin in third.

Gilbertson remained untouchable in Round 10, as he achieved a very comfortable first place finish. The action however, was for the final two podium spots and Austin and Nowland banged bars all day. After six Sprints, Austin moved into second place followed by Nowland in third.

Mitch Ford finished in fourth, just over 10 seconds behind Nowland.

J2

Levi Rossi absolutely smoked the J2 competition on Saturday, claiming the top step with a lead of mor than two minutes! After five laps here in Kingston SE, Rossi was followed onto the J2 podium by Blake Brown in second, and Cooper Parkes in third.

Rossi claimed back-to-back wins here in Kingston SE, with another gold for Round 10! Logan Stephens jumped up into second place, causing Brown to drop down to third. Brown has his work cut out for him, tangoing with Parkes for that final podium spot. After six Sprints, Brown won the bronze with just over a 20 second lead.

J1

Saturday treated Ollie Paech very nicely as he claimed a fantastic Cross Country win, leading the J1 pack over the finish line by 52.768 seconds. Behind Paech in second place for Round 9 was Koby Munro, who claimed a comfortable silver ahead of Ryder Lambing in third.

On Sunday, Paech continued his winning streak! After six Sprints, Paech finished just over one minute ahead of Munro in second place. Lambing dropped to fourth, leaving Parker Gibson to steal away the third and final podium position.

JJ

After six laps, Lachlan Devlin claimed a fantastic JJ win here in Kingston SE for Round 9! Devlin kept well ahead of his competition, with his best lap time still more than 30 seconds ahead of second place. Second place was won by Banjo Sutherland, followed by Thomas Hathway in third.

After Round 10, Devlin landed himself back on the top step after six Sprints. Sutherland claimed his consecutive silver finish, while Rhys Thompson stole away third place, beating Connor McCully by nearly 18 seconds!

That’s a wrap here in Kingston SE! For the final two Rounds of the 2024 season, we head north to Nowra, New South Wales, from 14-15 September.
