SHERCO SETS SIGHTS ON AORC WITH ANDY WILKSCH

Motul Pirelli Sherco Team ready for Australian Off-Road Championship with Andy Wilksch on 500 SEF Factory edition

The opening rounds of the 2019 Australian Off-Road Championship is just two days away and the Motul Pirelli Sherco Team is ready for action. Andy Wilksch will line up on the new Sherco 500 SEF Factory edition in the highly competitive E3 Class and is in the best shape of his racing life.

“Personally, I am far more ready to race at the top level after working with Ben Greenwood from 100% Strength over the summer,” Wilksch enthused. “Ben has been a huge help identifying areas of my preparation that need work and assisting me to be a better athlete. Having the right physical preparation has put my mentality to racing in a stronger place and it’s something I’ll continue to work on as the season progresses.”

Wilksch has been testing his 500 SEF Factory edition with Chad’s Off-Road Setups and is confident they have settled on a fast, comfortable and reliable setup for what is scheduled to be a tough start to the Championship this weekend.

“It’s been great to test the new bike,” Wilksch explained. “The KYB suspension is awesome and working on setting it up with Chad’s Off-Road Setups has been really rewarding. I’d say we’ve had our most productive test sessions ever. We’ve focussed on the little things to get everything perfect and the bike feels awesome. I’m really comfortable and ready to get into racing.”

Motul Pirelli Sherco Team manager Derek Grundy is excited about the racing ahead and has high expectations for Sherco.

“We’re in a really good place right now,” Grundy offered. “The 500 Factory model is the best bike in the competition and Andy is working smarter at being the best he can be. No doubt, he’s up against some tough competition, but I believe he has his best chance at proving he’s one of the top riders. We also have Danielle Foot competing in the Women’s Class on her Sherco and she’s a very good chance to be on the podium as well.”

Rounds one and two of the 2019 Australian Off-Road Championship will be a sprint format for both rounds which will be held this coming weekend, March 9 and 10. Racing will be held at 107 Kherim Rd, Murphys Creek QLD.
