SHERCO FOCUSED FOR AORC ENDURO

Rounds three and four of the Australian Off-Road Championship turn to time-card enduro

This coming weekend will see rounds three and four of the Australian Off-Road Championship return to Dungog, NSW for traditional enduro racing. The two days of competition will be separate one-day enduro events that will have riders racing the clock to maintain trail time as they ride between special tests.

Andy Wilksch will again lead the charge for the Motul Pirelli Sherco Team aboard the Sherco 500 SEF Factory edition. Coming off a fine second place at round two in Queensland, Wilksch is keen to keep the momentum going at Dungog.

“I feel the best I ever have,” Wilksch said. “I know I said it before the last round but we’re the most organised we’ve ever been and I feel great. My health and fitness are way above where I was last year thanks to training under Ben Greenwood at 100% Strength. We’ve tested today and we’re ready to go. The 500 Factory is brilliant. Chad’s Off-Road Setups has perfected my setup and they’ve nailed it. The fork and shock are working incredibly well and I’m so confident in the bike in any situation.”

Recent rain has ground conditions unusually moist, and with a forecast of fine weather for the weekend ahead, Wilksch is primed to go racing.

“There is moisture in the ground,” Wilksch explained. “It’s the best I have ever seen it up here. It’s ideal dirt bike conditions, and I am so keen to get racing. I want to chip away at where I sit in the pecking order against the other guys and I want to try and make sure I’m on the podium and improve on my effort every round.”

Fellow Sherco racer Danielle Foot will also line up for battle at Dungog. The Road and River Sherco rider will be looking to improve upon her fourth and fifth places from rounds one and two in Queensland.

“I’ve been working on my fitness and practicing for this weekend so I’m hopeful to bring the pace up a bit,” Foot said. “I’m aiming for the podium because that’s where I need to be.”

Rounds three and four of the 2019 Australian Off-Road Championship will take place April 6 and 7 at 1707 Chichester Dam Road, Dungog NSW.
