Nathan Ready to Pull the Trigger at AORC

The Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) is set to head to uncharted territory on September 1-2, as the paddock take over Broken Hill for the first ever desert cross country. The new format will see one of Australia best desert racers Nathan Trigg join the AORC field in the E2 class.

The Motul Pirelli Sherco Team rider is coming off the back of a solid results at Hattah. Trigg left one of the toughest desert races on the calendar with a fifth place overall and second place in the 450cc four-stroke class.

Trigg is excited to get out there at Broken Hill; “I’m really looking forward to getting involved in the AORC and with the upcoming round being a desert cross country, it just made sense to get back on my Sherco and race the round.”

Joining the Motul Pirelli Sherco Team for season 2018, Sherco had circled this date as an event they wanted to Trigg compete in.
“This has been planned most of the season, with Sherco helping me out this year they brought this to my attention as a round they would like to see me ride.”

The plan originally for Trigg was to ride the 500 at Broken Hill but the plans have slightly changed; “The original plan early on was to be on the 500, but the bike just isn’t quite ready for September 1-2, it also meant I would be racing against my teammate Andrew Wilksch, so we made the decision to race E2. I’ll be on the 450 SEF-R same bike I rode at Hattah and I really can’t wait to get out there and bang bars with the AORC field.”

Trigg joins a strong E2 class at Broken Hill; “The competition in E2 is quite strong so I’m heading to AORC with an open mind about where I want to finish, obviously the team and I would like that to be up the front.”

The conditions at Broken Hill will be similar to what Trigg usually races in; “The conditions will be pretty dry at Broken Hill, NSW as far as I’m aware. I’m from Mildura and we haven’t seen much rain here just yet. The longer the race goes the tougher the conditions will become over the four hours, I’m looking forward to what Broken Hill has to offer.”

Derek Grundy, the team manager of Motul Pirelli Sherco is thrilled to have Trigg under his tent at Round Seven of AORC; “For this event he is a great addition, we are pretty confident that he will do well at this event as it’s his terrain. The event suits him as he loves speed and the open track, he will go in to the event with plenty of confidence,” finished Grundy.
